Disaster Recovery - when worst case scenarios become reality

City of London office fire destroys block and takes 12 buildings out of service for days.

Located less than 100 metres from a fire which destroyed an entire six storey building, City Docs experienced a total power-outage as London Fire Brigage and the local utilities shut down power to several streets around.

"Production was running at near full-capacity, much of it for one client project. Within 20 minutes of being on scene, the fire brigade shut down the ring mains that serves several blocks around bringing work to an abrupt halt.  This was the acid test for our DR suite.  Amazingly, despite everything going on in the streets outside, we decanted the work-in-progress and shuttled it to DR site" recalls Darren Cannell, Operations Director of City Docs.

"One of the staff had gone ahead to open up to power up the kit.  In less than 30 minutes we had production restarted. The client's work was completed  on time, to spec".
